The Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple in Varanasi is a highly revered shrine dedicated to Lord Hanuman, who is worshipped here as the 'Sankat Mochan' or the remover of all difficulties. It was established in the early 16th century by the great poet-saint Goswami Tulsidas, reputedly on the very spot where he had a divine vision of Hanuman. Located near the Assi River, the temple is a spiritual hub, attracting thousands daily, with Tuesdays and Saturdays being especially crowded. It is also famous for hosting the annual 'Sankat Mochan Sangeet Samaroh', a prestigious classical music and dance festival.
